Pregnancy Update

Here we are in week 35! Can you believe that it's September already...time is passing right on by! It is still hot as I don't know what and now there's a hurricane coming! Well...not coming to Durham but you know what I mean! Many prayers going out to our Wilmington family and my brother who is doing his Coast Guard duty!


So...went to the doctor this morning and all seems to be going well! My blood pressure was up some and I gained 2 lbs! Of course, I have explanations for this...lol! I'm thinking my pressure was up because my little escape artist managed to get out of her room this morning and was waiting outside my bathroom door when I got out of the shower! It scared me to death...I said to her...how did you get in here and she said, "Door..." Give me strength, Jesus! Oh and the weight thing...maybe it was the piece of Red Velvet cheescake (gift from Tisha's little sis) that I ate last night or the other little treats that I have had over the last 2 weeks. But still only up 13 total pounds so I'm on track.

Kennedi has dropped a bit ( I had guessed this since my lap is disappearing!) and has a great heartbeat. She is measuring 34 weeks and is head down. That's good to know because I was always wondering what these random body parts sticking out my stomach were...LOL...anywho! I had to get my Group B strep test today so the doctor asked if I wanted her to check my cervix. I told her that she might as well since she was down there already...LOL! My cervix is soft but still closed so no dilation. Then they told me to go get my finger pricked! WHAT?! Wait a minute...no one told me about this! I am not mentally prepared for any needles today...They didn't care and I was off to the lab to check for iron. Shouldn't it be a law that they have to warn you about these things in advance? **sigh** Oh well...I survived and my iron level was good...

I am wondering how a baby can move so much while upside down...sounds uncomfortable! Hmmm...oh well! Look out for Breakin' 2010 coming your way! She clearly has her head spin down pat!

So I hope that everyone has a great Labor Day weekend! I am excited for a day off...especially since I need Kennedi to stay put until October 1st so that my maternity leave will be in tact! I am now on weekly appointments so I'll be back next Wednesday!

Pregnancy Update

Hello all,


Greetings from baby land!! 33 weeks and 3 days and counting...

So...where to start?! Kennedi is doing well...she has a great heartbeat and continues to perfect her break dancing moves at all hours of the day and night! Its crazy...she has now positioned herself in such a way that she has caused a pinched nerve in my lower back! Fun!! I can also no longer get my engagement ring on my ring finger. Hmmmmm...not sure what that's about! LOL....The doctor said that she is measuring right on schedule so October 5th here we come!

My last day at work will be October 1st! I am taking 10 weeks of leave and I am excited! One of the best parts of having a baby is being at the house with your baby while collecting a paycheck! Of course, the HR woman tried to convince me to take the full 12 weeks and take a reduced check. UMMMMMM...NO! As most of you should know I'm allergic to partial checks and unpaid leave...I will be back when the time runs out...thanks for the offer!

Many of you have expressed opinions about when Miss Kennedi will make her arrival. Some have been way off by my thoughts but whatever floats your boat! LOL....Anyway, since we are not having a baby shower this time around, we have set up an online baby pool for you to guess arrival date, weight, length! The closest person will get a prize! Some of you have asked so we did go ahead and register for the basics at Target and Babies R Us . Please don't feel pressed to get anything but a pie or piece of fried chicken is always appreciated!

I continue to do well on the scale....only .2 lbs in the last 2 weeks and 120/80 blood pressure...GO ME!!!

Kevin is still Kevin and continues to torture me by laughing at my hormonal moments, asking me why I'm breathing so hard, and snuggling up with my body pillow! Why?! He has also informed me that I am not to get anything on his seats if we take his car to the hospital during labor or I will be out there cleaning up...Give me strength!

Sanai is also doing well! Her grandmother bought her a little piano and microphone so she is preparing for Broadway! She gives me concerts at night before bed...she's a STAR!! I wish I could figure out how to download the video off my phone...its classic! She gives "Sissy" (my belly) lots of kisses now so that's a positive...we shall see what happens on the big day! LOL...Her daddy showed her a toy Tarheel mascot the other night and she started crying! I have raised her right!!!

Welcome

So....I figured it was time to just do a blog! That way I can put my pregnancy updates and share any fun info about our family! People are always telling me that I should write a book of all my experiences but I never think anyone wants to read my opinions...lol! Well...now those of you that are interested can have all the Ebony that you can stand! Plus some Sanai which makes it even better...LOL
